Bohemian Sunrise gladly welcomes taping, be it analog or digital, at most live performances, as long as the venue/promoter permits it. We encourage fans to record our shows and spread them throughout our great community, whether it be audio or video. All recordings must be for personal use or non-commercial fan trading only. Please employ the use of common sense and common courtesy when taping. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
We would love to hear your audio recordings and see your video and still photographs of our shows. We would greatly appreciate it if at least one taper/photographer per show sends a clearly-labeled copy to the postal address below or contacts with a link to where the show has been uploaded to the internet (for our archival purposes only). Packages cannot be returned, but contents will be enjoyed!
Please send to: Bohemian Sunrise - Box 1 4 6 9 - Bellmawr, NJ 08099
Before taping or distributing any Bohemian Sunrise recording, please read all details, legalities, preferences, and courtesies outlined below:
When Bohemian Sunrise is performing at a festival or other event featuring multiple bands, that particular event's policy may override Bohemian Sunrise's customary taping policy. When Bohemian Sunrise is opening for another artist, that particular artist’s policy may override Bohemian Sunrise's taping policy. Under certain circumstances, we may not allow taping and/or duplication of a specific show due to the potential commercial distribution of that performance by Bohemian Sunrise.
Tapers are responsible for bringing, and protecting, their own self-contained recording equipment, microphones, stands, media, power, supplies, etc. Neither the band, their crew, nor the venue will be able to supply any of the above materials, nor will any member of the Bohemian Sunrise crew be able to “watch” or “hold” your equipment. Sound board patches are not guaranteed and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and only at the consent of the venue, Bohemian Sunrise, and the acting soundman for the show. Please stay out of the way of the working crew/soundman and do not set up equipment in a way that would impair them to do their job properly.
The enjoyment of the audience in attendance at a concert always takes precedence over recording efforts. This means that at no time should tapers ever require other patrons to be quiet, move, or otherwise interfere with their enjoyment of the show. We ask that you please be considerate of those around you by not obstructing anyone else's view or audio enjoyment of the performance. The use of any additional lighting for the purpose of video photography is forbidden.
The same rules and guidelines apply to Still Photography, as stated above for Audio/Video Taping and below for Duplication/Distribution. Please be considerate to the performers and the audience when utilizing flash photography. Disregard for others may require temporary removal of the camera from your possession for the duration of the performance. Unless prior approval has been granted by a band official, still photographers will not be given access to any areas beyond those granted on their ticket.
You may quote short (fair use) passages of text contained in this website or in other printed Bohemian Sunrise materials in reviews, announcements, critical surveys of the jamband music scene, etc.
If you use any of the images contained in this website or in other printed Bohemian Sunrise materials, it is courteous to give Maria Pinardo (photographs) and Mike Cunningham (graphics) credit for their work.
Selling or commercializing any recording (including audio capturing, video or still photography), including those MP3s available on this website, without proper authorization is illegal and will jeopardize taping privileges for everyone. Audience taping at Bohemian Sunrise concerts is authorized for non-commercial purposes only. Unauthorized sale, duplication and/or distribution, regardless of form, is strictly forbidden and will be in violation of applicable laws. All taping must be for personal use only, which may include trading (via analog or digital tape, CD, or digital file transfer) of music either on a one-to-one basis or as part of a “tree.” Recordings may be traded only for an equivalent amount of similar media. Sharing CDs and MP3s with your friends, posting onto peer-to-peer networks like Gnutella or using sites like etree.org or furthurnet.org is encouraged. Make lots of copies, and give them to your friends and some strangers. Regardless of any expenses incurred, no money may ever be exchanged as part of a trade; however, stamped, self-addressed envelopes may be included with blank media (B&P).
The mediums by which audio trading is publicized may not be commercialized. Therefore, newsletters, web sites, clubs, or any other communication forum facilitating audio trading cannot accept advertising, offer links for compensation, exploit databases compiled from their traffic, or otherwise derive any commercial profit in any other form of commercial gain. Stores or businesses, on-line or off-line, may not offer to duplicate Bohemian Sunrise media for customers or sell or otherwise provide media containing unreleased Bohemian Sunrise music for any price. A statement of compliance with this policy must be clearly posted on all web sites engaged in trading activity. If we have chosen to offer for sale a particular Bohemian Sunrise performance, this "official" version will take precedence over amateur recordings and said recordings should no longer be traded, or made available by websites, servers, or other means. In no case may any officially-released Bohemian Sunrise recording (live or studio) be duplicated or otherwise traded or offered.
All Bohemian Sunrise performances and recordings are the exclusive property of Bohemian Sunrise. All participants involved in the audio recording exchange (regardless of format) acknowledge and respect the copyrights and exclusive ownership of the music and performances by the performers, writers and publishers. All rights reserved. The rights to record Bohemian Sunrise performances set forth in this policy constitute an express, revocable license. We reserve the right to withdraw our sanction of recording, tape trading and/or non-commercial digital audio file transfers on a case specific basis or in general, as we deem necessary. No waiver of any copyright or trademark right is intended.
If you are aware of any person, store, forum, or site in violation of this policy, please inform us by sending Maria an email at .
Please support all artists you tape and trade by purchasing the merchandise that keeps them on the road (CDs, T-shirts, etc.).
We appreciate the efforts of tapers and photographers to share and archive live music performances for generations to come. We know that it is greatly due your support that the live music scene thrives and independent bands like us are able to grow audiences in both our hometowns and in cities across the nation. In appreciation for your talents and efforts, tapers will generally not be expected to pay a cover. If you would like to tape and avoid a cover charge, please email Maria at , let her know your name and recording setup and if at all possible, she will gladly give ya' a spot on the Guest List. Thanks for taping and trading, and have fun at the shows!
